WHAT IS HY-CORE?

The name HY-Core reflects its essence: a HY-brid sandwich material that is sandwich & flow media, combining foam & fiber and uniting multiple functions in a single bionic material.

Its unique structure offers:

  • Consumable-free resin flow

    Functions as both a core material and integrated flow media, ideal for infusion and RTM processes.

  • Outstanding Mechanical Properties

    Enhances compressive strength, flexural rigidity, and bonding ability.

  • Simplified Processing

    Easy to cut into shape and effortless drapability.

  • Circularity

    Made from 100% recycled PET and fully recyclable with a compatible matrix.

FROM SURFBOARDS TO COMPOSITES

HY-Core derives from the Honey Roots Technology, an innovative surfboard construction based on a structural 3D Laminate that is integrating bio based and recycled materials to create a recyclable high performance surfboard. This technology was honored with the JEC World Innovation Award in 2025, recognizing its impact on composites. 

HY-CORE transfers the concept of Honey Roots Technology to an innovative hybrid sandwich material and makes its potential accessible to the composite industry.

Our first product, HY-Core RE3, is designed as an all-round solution to fit a wide range of applications. With its 3,5 mm thickness and rhombus geometry the REcycled core material stands out through: 

  • 360 Degree reliable flowing ability.
  • Ideal drapability to fit complex shapes. .
  • Simultaneous impregnation of up to 800g/m² reinforcements per side.
  • Sustainability with 100% recycled PET composition.
